Non-Profit Spotlight: For My Prince

What was the motivation to found For My Prince?

My motivation was to engage African American/Black parents and children in playing in fun and safe environments together and with the community. I don’t like seeing our children roaming the streets, in places unattended by adults, or simply parents not knowing what to do with their leisure time. Our boys have been targeted in and vulnerable to unwanted circumstances.

For My Prince (FMP) was founded April 19, 2018 by Tonya Chaplin Lamons. FMP’s first playdate was May 6, 2018 at Lions Park  in Killeen TX. The event consisted of playing on the playground and made music with a local Carribean musician in the park. The FMP vision is ” African American/Black boys and their families learning to positively socialize in safe and constructive environments.”
